PRE-RECRUITMENT
(No Exposure)

Talented, but invisible. Most players start here. Almost no recruiting traction happens here.

  • Zero or minimal college camps attended​

  • Build a real player profile (metrics & videos)

  • Email college coaches

  • Play on a respected travel team

THE EXPOSURE STAGE

This is the initial evaluation phase. You are on the map but barely. mostly one-way interest.

 

WHERE THE PLAYER IS

  •  Attending college camps

  • Going to showcase events

  • Recording stats, metrics, and measurables

  • Getting general camp invites and mass emails

  • Coaches passively observe players at games, camps, showcases but not recruiting yet

  • Continue Stage 1 foundation

  • Strategically select appropriate camps to attend (not random ones)

  • Strategically pick correct showcases to attend (not the expensive, wrong ones)

  • Start/Continue with a respected travel organization

  • KG Baseball helps choose the right camps, and showcases, and builds an email campaign that gets real attention, not spam folder ignores

Evaluation Stage

They start to know your name. This stage can give players the impression that they're being recruited, but it is more accurate that this is the beginning of the process. Continued effort and development are still essential.

  • College coaches form their recruiting list

  • Coaches attend your games specifically to track you

  • This is where players move from "unknown" to "identified"

  • Light, inconsistent communication with the player

  • Coaches follow your social media

  • Travel/High School coaches may receive inquires

  • Personal camp invites start coming

  • Communicate with college coaches, even if limited responses

  • Attend the correct college camps (based on academic & athletic fit)

  • Attend the appropriate showcases

  • Continue to develop

  • Start comparing dream versus realistic college options

This is where the real recruiting starts. Coaches are comparing you to their other prospects.

  • Personal emails, phone calls, and texts

  • Academic and personality evaluation by coaches

  • Coaches are still assessing whether a player fits their program

  • Over loaded with decisions, overwhelmed with pressure of multiple colleges reaching out

WHAT THE PLAYER MUST DO

  • Approach communication professionally

    • Be personal and polite during conversations​

    • Respond to texts promptly and professionally

  • Narrow your list of potential choices

​

WHAT KG BASEBALL DOES

  • KG Baseball assists with sorting through the choices. This is where the true consulting happens. We research rosters, scholarships, and academic criteria. We talk to coaches to give your family clarity.

HEAVY RECRUITMENT & OFFER STAGE

You are almost at the finish line. Just don't mess up.

  • Colleges asking player to visit

  • Small invite-only recruiting camps

  • Campus tour with coaching staff

  • Multiple offers may arrive

WHAT THE PLAYER MUST DO

  • Approach the visit professionally

    • Players speaks. Be confident, and be thankful. Treat like a job interview​

  • Weigh all factors, there are many

  • Discuss with parents, coaches, and advisors
